Tornado in Israel

I know I am way behind on my blogging about our trip, but this couldn't wait. We were driving from Eilat to Jerusalem on Friday April 13, 2007 and we were about an hour outside of Eilat which anyone who has driven that way knows is just about the middle of nowhere. We noticed something strange up ahead and when we got closer we realized it was a small tornado about 200 meters or so off of the road. We took some pictures but it is kinda hard to see exactly what it is. If you look at the below picture you can see on the right hand side the funnel going up from the ground up to the clouds. It was pretty amazing to see but also a bit nervewracking since there weren't too many other cars on the road and if it changed course toward us we wouldn't have had many options as to where to go. Either way it was an awesome sight.
