Just some random music thoughts of recent...
The new Foo Fighters album (or double album) is absolutely incredible. If anyone has heard the new single, Best of You, and thinks it is good you should just know that it is probably one of the weaker songs on the first disc. Yes - the rest of the CD is that good. The second disc (acoustic with lots of collaborations) is interesting. Virginia Moon (w/ Norah Jones) is a great song, makes you feel like you are sitting on a boat in the middle of a very peaceful lake. The rest of the songs really do show off the raw talent that Dave Grohl has. Bottom line - the whole album is getting some pretty heavy rotation on my Ipod.
The other big thing getting lots of listening to by me right now is the Pink Floyd set from Live 8 yesterday. All I can say is.... wow. Here's hoping that the reunion bug has bitten them to the point that they want to do an American tour! I know the chances of that are like those of pigs flying, but I heard that there were some of those during the concert yesterday so you never know! It's only fair that these bands give the younger generations the privilege of seeing them live while they are still alive to play. Anyone feel like starting a petition?
