Meeting the 1 GB frontier

Exciting news from Google today - but the privacy issues do scare me a little. I am actually surprised that as a company that has been at the forefront of the technological revolution they would do something that is so blatantly opposite what any Chief Privacy Officer would tell you is the right way to go. I was even more surprised to check the Google management page and see that they don't have a CPO at all! Maybe they're just waiting for me to submit my resume....

Nice meeting you last night! (I couldn't find your email on this page, which is why I'm posting this unrelated comment on your blog...)

Just wondering how you felt about me posting that group picture on my blog... is that o.k.? If you don't want to be in the picture, let me know. I can do some Photoshop magic.

Yeah, I'm a bit unnerved by the whole lack of privacy thing too. Unfortunately, I've noticed that personal privacy is increasingly going away. Just my paranoia, perhaps, but you know what they say:

"Paranoia doesn't mean everyone *isn't* out to get you!"
